Major remodels

Remodel the house as one project.

A whole-home remodel isn't a string of room updates. We plan the layout, structure, mechanical systems, and finishes together.

Opening up a house across several rooms changes how the whole building works. A wall that looks simple can turn out to be bearing. Electrical, plumbing, and HVAC often have to be redone to fit the new plan. Finishes go in last, and they're the first thing to suffer when the work underneath was never scoped.

We take these on as your general contractor: one scope, one schedule, and a preconstruction phase before construction starts. It's a good fit if you're renovating a house you plan to stay in.

Who this is for

  • You're renovating most of the house, not a single fixture or a paint job.
  • The project changes the layout, the structure, or the building systems.
  • You want the remodel planned before crews show up.

How planning works

  1. First we decide which parts of the house are in the project and which aren't.
  2. We gather existing conditions, drawings, and selections before calling a price final.
  3. We talk early about where you'll live during construction, because that changes the schedule.

Questions

How is a whole-home remodel different from updating a room?
A whole-home remodel coordinates layout, structure, systems, and finishes across the house. Updating one room without touching the rest of the building is a different kind of project.
Can we live in the house during construction?
Sometimes. It depends on how much of the house is open at once. We work that out while planning, so you're not guessing on the first call.
What should I have ready for the first conversation?
Your address, what you want changed, and any drawings or notes you already have. You don't need a finished set of plans to get started.
